About the Role As an AI Engineer (Client Site), you will be Vecton's technical presence embedded within the client's environment - the critical link between our central AI engineering team and the financial institution's own technology teams. Our central team designs and architects AI solutions tailored to complex financial use cases. Your role is to deeply understand the client's problem landscape, technology stack, operational constraints, and regulatory boundaries, and then build, integrate, and operationalize those solutions within their environment - on their machines, within their infrastructure.

This is a forward-deployed, high-ownership role. You will work day-to-day with client stakeholders to uncover automation opportunities, translate them into production-grade intelligent systems, and ensure every solution delivers measurable business value. You will report to Vecton's central engineering team, with a dotted-line accountability to the client's technical leadership.

What You'll Do Serve as the on-site AI engineering presence, working closely with client teams to understand business problems, identify automation opportunities, and define use cases suited for AI-driven solutions. Architect and deliver GenAI-based systems that integrate large language models (LLMs), multi-agent workflows, and embedding-powered retrieval solutions into production-grade intelligent applications. Understand the client's technology stack, infrastructure constraints, data landscape, and compliance requirements, and build solutions that operate effectively within those boundaries.

Develop solution proposals by owning sections of proposal documents, contributing to solution design based on areas of expertise, and preparing effort estimates aligned with client budgets and organizational guidelines. Conduct solution PoC Demos that build client confidence and drive adoption. Build integrations between AI systems and existing client applications, data pipelines, and APIs using relevant software development frameworks.

Actively leverage AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor or equivalent co-pilots) to accelerate development and improve output quality. Collaborate closely with Vecton's central team to feed learnings, patterns, and reusable components back into the organization's knowledge base. What We're Looking For Strong working knowledge of large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).

Hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI applications in production or near-production environments. Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) and embedding-based search pipelines. Awareness of the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and genuine curiosity to keep pace with it. 2–5 years of software development experience, with proficiency in Python as the primary language for AI/ML workloads.

Working knowledge of any software development stack - MERN / MEAN or Java/Spring Boot - to support integration and application development needs. Ability to build and consume RESTful APIs, work with JSON data structures, and integrate AI components into existing software systems.
