AI Engineer

Job Title – AI Engineer Function: Information Systems - AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) Location : Brakes India, Chennai, Padi Experience: 3–5 years Polyglot full stack engineer with Hands-on AI / Generative AI experience Role Summary Join Brakes India’s AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) to build and scale Generative AI–based applications and AI-powered features across business functions. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on delivering working, production-ready AI solutions. Key Responsibilities Build Generative AI applications such as AI assistants, copilots, RAG-based search, and workflow automation.

Develop Python-based AI services integrating LLMs, embeddings, and vector databases. Integrated GenAI functionality with APIs for enterprise integration. Contribute to pilots and scaled AI solutions as part of the central AI CoE.

Collaborate with other enterprise system architects to deliver reliable AI solutions. Required Skills Strong Python development experience (mandatory) with keenness to learn new tech and languages. Additional programming language experience will be a plus.

Hands-on experience building productionized AI / Generative AI solutions. Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG. Exposure to Langchain, LangGraph or any Agentic AI frameworks Full-stack experience across both front end and backend Strong in APIs and microservices development.

Ability to build end-to-end working applications. Understanding of deploying AI services in real environments. Cloud exposure (Azure preferred).

Others Hands-on builder mindset. Strong problem-solving skills. Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-moving AI environment.

Comfortable working from office in a collaborative setup. Soft Skills Strong communication skills to interact with business users and understand requirements. Ability to explain concepts and solutions in simple, business-friendly language.

Capability to recommend suitable AI and GenAI solutions based on business problems. Confidence to engage with stakeholders as a confident AI development specialist in the organization. Ability to collaborate internally and support knowledge sharing and training of teams.
