Aggregate Technician

Wage Range: $27.00/hr to $45.00/hr DOE Take a peek at this video of our Aggregate Techs: Working at General as an Aggregate Tech OVERVIEW: This individual is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient repair of aggregate machinery and components at high levels of quality on equipment including, conveyors, screens, feeders, compression crushers, impact crushers, generators, washing equipment, and mobile track equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnose and troubleshoot problems on aggregate equipment accurately and perform field repairs with minimal supervision Able to measure and replace crusher wear parts and screen cloth accurately and independently Able to do thorough and accurate inspections of various aggregate equipment and perform maintenance as directed by manufacturer specifications Attend manufacturer training sessions and internal training courses put on by GES Technical Trainers Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems Perform rebuilds on aggregate equipment components and systems Perform customer equipment startups while explaining proper use, maintenance and warranty procedures Responsible for following all company safety policies and procedures Maintains a clean, organized and safe working environment Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles Completes all paperwork required for jobs Maintains DOT compliance and proficiently uses and understands electronic logbook system May perform other duties as directed by Service Management JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must share our Core Values: Do the Right Thing, Be Curious, Have Passion and Be Innovative Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the aggregate industry Must have Class A CDL or the ability to obtain Welding/fabrication experience helpful Must have own hand tools, up to and including a ¾ drive set Excellent customer service skills both internal and external as a representative of General Equipment Organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects Must be willing to travel as there may be occasional overnight field service work COMPANY BENEFITS: (*certain benefits are adjusted based on position) Health FSA HSA w/ Employer Contributions Dental Vision Life / AD&D / Critical Illness 401k Company Match PTO Accrual Paid Holidays Prescription Safety Glass Reimbursement Safety Boot and Cold Weather Gear Reimbursement Employee Assistance Program Uniform/Clothing Allowance Annual Tool Allowance Employee Events Fuel Your Passion Reimbursement Additional Job-Related Education and Trainings Short/Long Term Disability - Employer Paid NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 100 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50 pounds and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 20 pounds Occasional to frequent walking or standing Frequent and continual movement as follows, often several of movements simultaneously (i.e., handle while crouching, carry while kneeling): Kneel (bend legs at knee, come to rest on knees) Crouch/Squat (bend body down and forward, bending legs and spine) Crawl (move on hands, knees, and feet) Climb (ascend/descend ladders, stairs, ramp, or step up on or down from equipment/trailer) Stoop (Bend downward and forward at waist) Lift (raise or lower object > 25 pounds from one level to another) Carry (transport an object) Push (press with steady force, thrust objects forward, downward, outward) Pull (drag or tug objects) Turn/twist (move a body part in circular motion) Bend (bend downward and forward by bending the spine at waist) Reach (extend hands and arms in any direction) Handle (seize, hold turn with hands) Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers Hearing and speaking to exchange information Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment Consistently exposed to weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise The duties described above are the general nature and levels of work performed but are not intended to be a complete comprehensive list of all the duties, activities, and responsibilities required of job incumbents.
