Job Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and nonāclinical professions and roles. Role The GP Walkāin Centre is based at Cardonald Health Centre in South Glasgow and will provide urgent primary care services to the local population. The service aims to improve access, reduce pressure on GP practices and minimise inappropriate Emergency Department attendances by offering rapid access to sameāday assessment for patients unable to secure a GP appointment.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioners who have experience of working in primary care at an advanced level. Experience in Acute Care would be an additional advantage. As an Advanced Practitioner you will practice autonomously in the assessment, diagnosis and appropriate management of patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
You will be supported by a team of GPs and nursing staff on site to deliver urgent care and appropriate interventions as required. You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern Location: Cardonald Health Centre Fixedāterm contract for 12 months Partātime position ā 24.5 hours per week (3 days a week) or 16.5 hours per week (2 days a week) Salary is proārata for partātime hours.
Key Responsibilities Assess each patientās needs and treat accordingly, utilising evidenceābased practice and advanced decisionāmaking skills to provide accurate diagnosis and management plans. Implement advanced clinical care, incorporating clinical skills within agreed protocols and guidelines, and deciding on admission, referral and discharge. Apply highālevel decisionāmaking and assessment skills to formulate appropriate differential diagnoses.
Request appropriate diagnostic tests and investigations where indicated, using judgement and clinical reasoning. Interpret and analyse test and investigation results and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals when needed. Adopt a multiāagency approach to provide personācentred care throughout the continuum of care.
