Build the Foundation. Lead the Transformation. We are seeking a hands‑on, influential, and forward‑thinking Accounting Manager with an industrial manufacturing history to lead all finance and accounting activities for our Nevada manufacturing site.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high‑impact role where you will build, shape, and elevate the financial infrastructure as the site transitions from an external accounting provider into the full Ingersoll Rand operating rhythm. As the on‑site finance leader, you will ensure accurate US GAAP reporting, establish strong internal controls, and drive seamless integration into our global finance ecosystem. You will own the full spectrum of site‑level accounting—including general ledger, AP/AR oversight, inventory and cost accounting, month‑end close, tax, financial reporting, and system integrations.
Early on, this role is highly hands‑on, with the opportunity to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and influence cross‑functional partners in a facility new to IR systems and expectations. This position requires a self‑starter with strong ownership, keen attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Success in this role also demands the ability to lead through influence, communicate with impact, and drive accountability across the organization.
Responsibilities Control Environment & Compliance – Ensure adherence to strong internal controls during the transition from local accounting to IR standards; maintain SOX compliance in partnership with internal and external audit; and own US GAAP accounting for the entity, ensuring accuracy and a timely monthly close. Month‑End Close & Reporting – Lead the month‑end close process end‑to‑end, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold; prepare comprehensive analytical reviews of monthly results and variances to plan; and provide weekly and daily reporting to support business operations. Integration & Transition – Partner with the external local accounting provider during the first six months to ensure continuity and data accuracy; lead the internalization of accounting processes, documentation, and controls; support future legal entity migration and system alignment; and build process maps, SOPs, and standardized workflows aligned with Corporate policies.
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Cash – Process AP/AR transactions and maintain accurate aging schedules; reconcile bank statements, apply cash receipts, and coordinate vendor payments; and support credit management and customer collections as needed. Payroll & Tax Coordination – Collaborate with payroll vendors to ensure accurate salary processing, taxes, and deductions; and support federal, state, and local tax compliance in coordination with Corporate Tax and external service providers. Continuous Improvement & Ownership Mindset – Drive process optimization opportunities, particularly during the transition to internal teams, while demonstrating strong ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and a willingness to be hands‑on across all responsibilities.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, applying US GAAP principles 5+ years’ experience performing month‑end close, GL accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ideally in an industrial manufacturing environment. 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel with demonstrated proficiency in advanced formulas such as Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, AVERAGEIFS. 3+ years of hands‑on experience with ERP systems, including accounting and finance modules. Core Competencies Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting – Demonstrates strong expertise in US GAAP, general ledger ownership, and full‑cycle month‑end close, including reconciliations, accruals, inventory and cost accounting, and accurate financial reporting. Controls, Compliance & Risk Management – Ensures adherence to internal controls and SOX compliance, partnering with internal and external audit while maintaining accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data.
Process Improvement & Systems Integration – Leads process optimization and standardization efforts, including building SOPs, improving workflows, and supporting ERP/system integrations and business transitions such as M&A or internalization of accounting functions. Cross‑Functional Leadership & Execution – Partners effectively across Finance, Operations, Payroll, and external stakeholders to drive results, ensure alignment, and execute with strong ownership in a fast‑paced environment. Preferences SAP expertise CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Experience in M&A, integration, and/or greenfield process‑building Travel and Work Arrangements This position is based onsite in Las Vegas Up to 10% travel to support integration and Corporate meetings.
