Job Description
I am currently representing an impressive, high-growth Aerospace and Defense client in the Dallas area that is looking for a powerhouse Accounting Manager . If you have spent your career navigating the complexities of FAR Part 31 , managing DCAA/DCMA expectations, and ensuring job cost integrity, this is a role where your expertise will be genuinely valued—not just buried in a back office. Why this role is different: Most Accounting Manager roles are either at massive $1B+ primes where you only see one slice of the pie, or tiny shops where you’re doing everything manually.
This is the Goldilocks zone. * You’ll report to a sharp Controller who in turn rolls up to a world-class CAO at a major parent company. You get the resources of a large organization with the hands-on impact of a $30M–$150M business unit. What my client is looking for: The GovCon Specialist: You live and breathe FAR/CAS .
You’ve handled indirect rate structures and know how to keep a project ledger perfectly reconciled. The Systems Expert: You’ve likely spent a lot of time in Deltek Costpoint or Unanet . You know how to leverage these systems to automate workflows, not just enter data.
The Audit Pro: You aren’t intimidated by a DCAA request. You take pride in maintaining audit-ready workpapers year-round. The Background: 5–8+ years of progressive experience.
A Bachelor’s in Accounting is required; a CPA is the cherry on top. The Daily Mission: Owning the month-end close and general ledger integrity. Managing job cost accumulation across all contract types (Cost-Plus, T&M, FFP).
Supporting Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS) and rate monitoring. Partnering with Program Management and Contracts to ensure the business is moving in sync with GAAP and FAR.
