About the Role

Are you an up and coming accounting professional with a passion for precision and a talent for telling the story behind the numbers? Our client is seeking a versatile Accounting Analyst to join our growing finance team.

In this role, you won't just be recording transactions—you will serve as a vital link between corporate accounting, construction development, and operational success. If you thrive in the details of full-cycle accounting and want the variety of supporting major capital projects and process improvements, this opportunity is built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Core Accounting: Execute full-cycle accounting activities across multiple entities, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Development & Project Support: Monitor and reconcile development project budgets, track variances, and prepare monthly cost-recovery reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, featuring clear variance and ratio analysis for the Board and funders.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with department leads to build annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, integrating capital and operating projections.
  • Audit & Compliance: Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, build year-end audit packages, and file regulatory returns (HST/GST, payroll taxes).
  • System & Process Improvement: Drive internal initiatives to upgrade financial reporting, strengthen controls, and optimize our Yardi system integration.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide actionable financial insights and support to property management and site teams to keep operations aligned.

What You Bring

  • Education: University degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience
  • Experience within Real Estate, Construction, or Not-for-Profit environments would be ideal but not required.
  • Technical Mastery: Advanced MS Excel skills; hands-on experience with Yardi software is a major asset.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and relevant legislation (RTA, AODA, etc.).
  • Communication & Mobility: Strong stakeholder communication skills and the flexibility to travel within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as needed.

What Our Client Offers:

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Includes health, dental, and wellness programs.
  • Professional Impact: Direct ownership over financial systems, process improvement initiatives, and high-visibility capital projects.
