About you

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent) with full membership of a professional body
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, ideally within local government or public sector
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards
  • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges with a proactive attitude

What you'll do

  • Prepare accurate management accounts, financial reports, and analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Oversee capital and treasury accounting, asset management, and cash flow optimisations
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments and external partners
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and staff mentoring to foster a high-performance team
