About you
- Recognised accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent) with full membership of a professional body
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, ideally within local government or public sector
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and standards
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities
- Ability to adapt to new challenges with a proactive attitude
What you'll do
- Prepare accurate management accounts, financial reports, and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Oversee capital and treasury accounting, asset management, and cash flow optimisations
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and audit requirements
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments and external partners
- Contribute to continuous process improvements and staff mentoring to foster a high-performance team
