We are looking for a Management Accountant to join the team on a work-from-home basis initially, with the role expected to transition to a hybrid working arrangement within the next 12 months following the planned opening of a new office in Warsaw.

The successful candidate will be passionate about the aviation industry, target- and goal-driven, and have strong experience across accounting and financial management.

Purpose of the Role

  • To ensure all financial activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within required deadlines, supporting the overall goals of the organisation.
  • To provide accurate and timely financial reporting to management to support effective business decisions.
  • To safeguard company assets through effective management of cash, debtors, creditors, and financial controls.
  • To support CF Germany Finance with expense management and other finance-related activities as required.

Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, reporting packs, and supporting analysis.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts monthly, ensuring income and costs are recorded in the correct accounting period.
  • Ensure all accounting transactions, including invoices, bank transactions, and journals, are posted accurately and on time.
  • Prepare financial commentary and analysis to support monthly reporting and provide management with meaningful insight into business performance.

Cash Flow, Credit & Financial Controls

  • Monitor and manage company cash flow, ensuring customer debts are recovered and supplier payments are made accurately and within agreed terms.
  • Review and authorise payments, ensuring accuracy, validity, and appropriate financial controls are maintained.
  • Oversee debtor and creditor reporting, ensuring outstanding balances and disputes are addressed promptly.
  • Review client credit applications and ensure appropriate credit controls are maintained.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances regularly and ensure any discrepancies are resolved.

Tax, Payroll & Compliance

  • Take responsibility for the accurate preparation and submission of VAT, VAT EU, PIT, CIT, social security, and other applicable statutory returns.
  • Coordinate payroll processing, ensuring salaries, deductions, leave, and other payroll information are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Support the preparation of annual financial accounts, audit documentation, and statutory filings, working closely with external accounting advisors and auditors.

Other Duties

  • Provide occasional office administration support in coordination with the regional head office, as required.
  • Support the wider European Finance team and undertake other duties within the scope of the role as required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with management, colleagues, and external advisors.
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Communication

  • Participate in conference calls to ensure effective sharing of information and full awareness of activities across the Finance team and other offices.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with internal stakeholders and Group Finance.

Correlation with

  • To work in correlation with Finance teams across the Group and support a collaborative European Finance function.
  • To work in conjunction with the yearly strategies laid out by the Board of Directors, Senior Management, Management Teams, and Group Finance.

What We Look For

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a demanding and varied finance/accounting role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Polish accounting standards and local tax regulations.
  • Experience with financial reporting, VAT, payroll, statutory compliance, and month-end processes.
  • Experience with Symfonia or similar accounting/ERP platforms is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with external accountants, auditors, and/or tax advisors would be advantageous.
