Accountant

Plus Six One Seven Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane QLD 4000, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.

This position is integral to maintaining the financial health of the businesses in the Plus 617 Group and supporting our wider team with timely and reliable financial information.

Key responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and accounts.

Undertake the end-to-end payroll function.

Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank statements, and oversee petty cash management.

Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including tax filings and audits.

Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.

Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Manage registers pertaining to assets, lease agreements and other contracts.

Assist with the annual insurance renewal.

Provide financial advice and analysis to management to support decision-making.

Liaise with banks, auditors, vendors, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Contribute to the development of the technical acumen of the Finance Team.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA are an advantage).

Proven experience in finance, accounting, or auditing roles.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

Proficiency in accounting software (Xero), payroll software and MS Excel.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Basic understanding of Fair Work modern awards.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
