The Accountant is responsible for managing the company's accounting and financial reporting functions and providing accurate financial information to management.
The position will prepare and analyse financial reports, monitor financial performance, maintain accounting controls, assist with taxation and statutory obligations, and provide financial analysis to support the company's operational and commercial decision-making.

Task & Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash‑flow reports for management review.
Maintain and review the company's general ledger, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance‑sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Analyse revenue, expenditure, operating costs and financial performance and provide management with reports on significant trends, variances and areas requiring attention.
Prepare annual budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and financial projections and compare actual results against budgets to identify and explain material variances.
Monitor and analyse costs associated with inventory, suppliers, purchasing and business operations to assist management with cost control and profitability assessment.
Prepare and review GST, BAS and other applicable taxation and statutory financial information and coordinate with external accountants or advisers where required.
Review accounts payable and receivable records, outstanding balances and cash‑flow movements to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and financial issues are identified promptly.
Maintain and improve accounting systems, financial procedures and internal controls to support accurate reporting, appropriate authorisation of transactions and protection of company assets.
Analyse financial information and provide management with financial insights to support pricing, purchasing, budgeting, expenditure and other commercial decisions.
Assist with year‑end accounts, external audit requirements and preparation of supporting financial records and schedules.
Review financial transactions and accounting records to identify discrepancies, unusual transactions or control weaknesses and recommend appropriate corrective action.
Liaise with management, external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, suppliers and relevant authorities regarding accounting, financial reporting and compliance matters.
Maintain accurate and confidential financial records and ensure accounting activities are undertaken in accordance with applicable accounting standards, taxation requirements and company procedures.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher inAccounting, Commerce, Finance or a closely related discipline.
Relevant professional experience in accounting, financial reporting or a related accounting position.
Experience preparing and analysing financial statements, reconciliations, budgets and management reports.
Practical knowledge of GST, BAS and Australian taxation and financial reporting requirements.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar financial systems.
Experience within a commercial, manufacturing, wholesale or similar operational business environment will be highly regarded.
