About the position
The Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This role requires analytical skills and a thorough understanding of financial principles.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including issuing customer invoices and monitoring collections.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including processing and posting supplier invoices.
- Record and reconcile bank transactions and cash movements.
- Analyze financial data for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting of tax information from tax department.
- Monitor account balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing budget variances.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff.
Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Solid knowledge of accounting practices, finance, or a related field, with experience in implementing financial solutions and managing tasks of moderate complexity. Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and support prior experience in an accounting role with exposure to budgeting and forecasting is required.
- Expert analytical and technical skills, excellent communication, and project management skills.
- Utilizes advanced software features to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to lead small projects, innovate within the role, and provide training to peers.
- Capable of managing time effectively and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, company operations, and advanced methodologies.
- Possesses the ability to apply best practices in financial reporting and compliance.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
- Knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards and tax regulations, with proven experience working with Brazil’s accounting system and local compliance requirements.
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
