Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Divisional Accountant / Staff Accountant for a leading real estate development, construction, and property management organization. This candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting across a diverse portfolio of operating entities, including commercial real estate, construction, hospitality, and storage operations. The role offers exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, tenant interactions, budgeting, job costing, and month-end activities while working closely with leadership and business stakeholders.

Day-to-Day:

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned entities and operating companies
  • Prepare financial statements, reporting packages, and year-end working papers
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Process HST filings and regulatory reporting
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate financial discrepancies
  • Prepare tenant billings and CAM reconciliations (commercial division)
  • Support accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable functions
  • Assist with payroll processing and WSIB/EHT remittances
  • Prepare operating budgets, project cost reports, and job costing analysis
  • Support audit preparation and financial documentation
  • Collaborate with internal departments and leadership teams
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Act as a key accounting contact for assigned business units and stakeholders

Must-Haves:

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 1+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting
  • Bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation experience
  • Financial reporting and preparation of working papers
  • HST/GST filing experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
  • Professional, accountable, and proactive attitude

  • Public accounting experience
  • Commercial real estate or property management accounting experience
  • Construction, hospitality, storage facility, or multi-entity accounting exposure
  • ERP/accounting software experience
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting experience
  • Job cost reporting and progress billing experience
  • Experience supporting audits and year-end processes
  • CPA designation in progress or interest in pursuing CPA
  • Retirement home accounting experience
