Are you an experienced accountant with a keen eye for detail and a passion for financial excellence? Join Happytel Retail Group, where you'll play a key role in financial analysis, reporting, compliance, and payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop financial strategies to optimize profitability and efficiency
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and internal controls
Prepare management reports and conduct variance analysis for decision-making
Payroll & Compliance
Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and legislative compliance
Implement payroll controls to mitigate risks and analyze payroll costs
Manage GST returns and tax compliance for Australian and New Zealand operations
Management Accounting & Process Improvement
Lead month-end close, reconciliations, and complex journal entries
Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business initiatives
Drive process improvements and enhance financial systems (NetSuite/Xero)
Leadership & Strategic Support
Mentor junior finance staff and support leadership with financial insights
Advise on lease negotiations and store opening/closing financial impacts
What You’ll Bring:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance in Australia
2+ years of experience in financial accounting and payroll processing preferably in retail business
ERP knowledge desirable
Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, Xero, or similar)
Strong payroll knowledge, experience with Tanda, Xero is a plus

About the role:
Full-time position based in Auburn, Sydney
Hours of work: 38 hrs p/w Monday (8:30am - 5:00pm), Tuesday - Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm).
