Accountant
Job Description
Jones Engineering are looking to hire a qualified accountant to join our team. This is a full-time role based onsite at our headquarters in Pembroke Road, Dublin 4. As a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting, tax and supply chain regulations.
You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial advice and support in decision-making processes. You will report directly into the European Financial Controller and work closely with the general accounting, tax and accounts payable team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments, and other general ledger transactions
- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts
- Analyse and interpret financial data to inform management decisions
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate funds are available for operational need
- Manage the payroll related activities for relevant jurisdictions (including shadow payroll)
- Manage Tax/VAT returns and payments and other regulatory/compliance requirements
- Review financial results to ensure in line with Transfer Pricing policies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement financial policies and procedures
- Monitor supply chain within projects to ensure compliance with local regulations
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage the audit process for relevant jurisdictions
- Collaborate with HR on Employment Policies and Processes
- Support the set up of new entities within Europe region
- Support management with ad hoc requests as required
- Mentor and coach other team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field required
- ACA/ACCA certification Required
- Minimum 1 year post qualified experience required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting or finance role
- Proficient in financial management software, such as SAP
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
